Marsha J. MacBride announced her resignation as chief of staff of the Federal Communications Commission. She had rejoined January 2001, when she joined after serving as vice president of government relations for the Walt Disney Company. MacBride’s first stint with the FCC began in 1991.
MacBride’s duties included advising chairman Michael Powell on a variety of issues, including those that led to a series of decisions curtailing telemarketing and fax marketing activities. She also served as head of the FCC’s Homeland Security Policy Council.
In a statement, MacBride said she was leaving to pursue new opportunities.
