American Family Publishers Inc., has relaunched its sweepstakes entrants file in full compliance with the industry's new opt-out guidelines.
The file was temporarily taken off the market for three months by the sweeps giant while it reworked its mail piece to fully comply with the opt-out rules, Mike Bryant, president of Uni-Mail, New York, said.
The file names 48,000 last-three-month hotline names.
"They are absolutely going out of their way to make sure that list is totally compliant with any present or future opt-out conditions," said Bryant who has a long history as a broker with AFP which is also one of Uni-mail's largest accounts.
AFP's other rented file, American Family Bookshelf, has remained on the market as it was already compliant with the opt-out guidelines. That file names 70,000 last-three-month buyers. Both files are managed by Uni-Mail List Management, New York.
Last October, AFP filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Newark after it had been besieged by lawsuits alleging deceptive advertising.
