Mike Wehrs has been named as president and CEO of the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA).
Wehrs will be responsible for establishing guidelines and best practices to promote the development of mobile marketing worldwide.
He was formerly vice president of industry affairs and evangelism at Nuance Communications Inc. He has also worked for Tegic Communications and Microsoft Corp.
Wehrs has a wide range of industry association experience. He has served on the board of directors and executive committees for such organizations as CTIA The Wireless Association, Open Mobile Alliance, Bluetooth Special Interest Group and the dotMobi Advisory Group, among others.
