Richard K. Howe has been named president and CEO of Kowabunga, an online media placement firm. He will also sit on the company’s board of directors. His first day will be Nov. 17.
Howe joins Kowabunga from Acxiom Corp., where he had served as marketing, business strategy and M&A officer. Before joining Acxiom, Howe was general manager of the global marketing services unit at Fair Isaac & Co. He joined Fair Isaac from ieWild Inc., a marketing applications firm he founded and ran.
Stan Antonuk, who had been serving as Kowabunga’s interim CEO, has returned to his position as chief operating officer.
“Rich has made a significant contribution at Acxiom during his time with our company,” John Meyer, Acxiom’s president and CEO said in a statement. “He provided leadership in many areas of our business and his teams brought forth innovative ideas which in turned helped us become more efficient and increase the value we bring to our customers. We wish Rich well in his new role.”
At Acxiom Howe had been responsible for building the company’s Asia Pacific business, consulting business, targeted display advertising business. He also managed the information products and analytics business.
During the first nine months of 2008, Kowabunga generated $39.4 million in revenue, up from $19.2 million during the same period in 2007. Much of this growth came from the firm’s search network operations.
