A Canadian technology company has introduced “the world’s first hands-free and eyes-free e-mail solution for in-vehicle use.”
Dubbed the iLane, the product works with any Bluetooth-enabled wireless devices to give drivers a voice-based interface with their e-mail so they can safely access it while operating their vehicles, according to the device’s developer, Waterloo, ON-based Intelligent Mechatronic Systems.
The device gives drivers a brief summary of the e-mail in a natural sounding voice in a language of the driver’s choosing, the company claims. The driver can then listen to the entire message and compose a response using verbal instructions, according to the firm.
Hmmm… Are we the only ones who would rather not have a device in our cars telling us we can enlarge certain parts of our bodies with a special cream or pills, especially with our kids present?
