Cisco Systems Inc. will acquire IronPort Systems Inc., a provider of spam and spyware protection systems for $830 million.
The deal is expected to close in the third quarter.
"We feel there is enormous potential for enhanced e-mail and message protection solutions to be integrated our existing framework," said Richard Palmer, Cisco senior vice president, in a statement.
