WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN “Networking, education and information,” says Mike Becker, Mackay Envelope's vice president for national sales and CADM vice president. “We're a local grassroots organization in Chicago serving the industry's Midwest population. We provide a great networking opportunity for the future by offering more dialogue on integrating all the disciplines of direct marketing.” CADM president and DM consultant Carol White agrees. “The club has a strong legacy of programming, leadership and member services. You almost can't not be a member. There's no better place to meet people and learn.”
EVENTS The group's annual conference, Chicago DM Days & Expo (April 30-May 1), featuring a keynote by Rivet Chicago's president/COO Yvonne Furth and its chief creative officer Lor Gold, and a speed networking breakfast session; Direct From the Heart (May 22), a one-day seminar for nonprofits; the Tempo Awards (June 7); Bob Stone Education Day (November), a daylong seminar for high-level marketers; as well as second Wednesday lunches and Lunch and Learns, sponsored by CADM's special interest groups. “One of the key reasons people come to these events is to meet other people in the industry, and we want to help facilitate that,” Becker says.
