* The State of West Virginia has teamed with the nonprofit group Mission West Virginia to launch a new program providing training in e-commerce applications for small business and entrepreneurs throughout the state. Four hundred and fifty participants in the program will receive new computers to assist them during the training and help them complete course requirements Classes are tentatively scheduled to begin later this month in Beckley, WV. Training will be provided statewide, using Mission West Virginia’s community technology centers, libraries and partnering community groups throughout the state. The program is a result of assistance from the Appalachian Regional Commission, Verizon, the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation and Microsoft.


* Allied Telesis, a global provider of secure Ethernet/IP access systems, has launched AT-WA1104G, a new wireless router/bridge device for small office/home office (SOHO) and small business networks. The new product can be used as a broadband wireless router and a wireless point-to-point bridge. It can also be deployed as a wireless access point and for wireless distribution system (WDS) support


* Affinity Internet has debuted WebStore, a new system for developing and managing an online storefront. The system is designed specifically for non-technical users with a single interface. WebStore is available through Affinity's ValueWeb unit. For more information, visit www.valueweb.com.
