WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN

The group recently became an independent affiliate network member of the DMA, which means its members get the national organization's benefits, says Alex Marchetti, DMAA president and director of national accounts for SourceLink. An increased slate of educational programs is planned, such as seminars on direct marketing technology, multichannel strategies, one-to-one marketing and best practices. An intern program — held in conjunction with local universities, where up-and-coming DMers can network with area companies — is on the horizon as well.

EVENTS

Monthly luncheon meetings cover a variety of topics. Mike Friedman, director of interactive marketing services for Darden Restaurants, talks about the company's multichannel DM campaigns March 6, and Andrew Luke, senior manager of direct marketing at AT&T, outlines print technology options April 10. The South Star Awards also are presented in April. Winners are eligible for the DMA's Echo Awards competition.
