Caswell-Massey Celebrates Mother’s Day with Soap Incentive
Caswell-Massey, a purveyor of fragrances, toiletries, and gifts, recently mailed its Summer 2008 catalog featuring gifts for Mother’s Day. The cover of the 60-page slim-jim features the Caswell-Massey Signature Scent Damask Rose ($30) coupled with a rose and a “For Mom” notecard on a silver tray. The back cover promotes the four-piece Floral Bouquet Soap Collection as a premium on payment with orders of $100 or more. Fittingly, the table of contents begins with “Mother’s Day Gifts.” Items featured include the Almond Gift Basket ($54.95), the Rejuvenating Spa Set ($24.95) available in Cucumber, Kiwi, and Orange, and the Topiary Hanging Ball ($40). The remainder of the catalog is organized in categories such as “Home,” “Florals,” “Body Care,” “Gift Soaps,” and “Shave.” Some products include the 5-Piece Manicure Kit ($75), the Gianna Rose Atelier Angel Soaps ($16), and the Luxury 4-Piece Razor Set ($225). St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Honors Mothers
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a nonprofit organization dedicated to children's cancer research, recently mailed a fundraising appeal with a Mother's Day theme. The front of the #10 package states "Honor Someone Special this Mother's Day…" with an illustrated image of flowers in bloom. Inside, a letter from Marlo Thomas, actress and daughter of St. Jude founder Danny Thomas, explains that "Mother's Day is always such a wonderful time for honoring our mothers, grandmothers and other special women in our lives." The letter asks recipients to make a “Mother’s Day Tribute Gift” to help St. Jude “pay for services like chemotherapy, radiation, and other lifesaving treatments our patients desperately need.” The letter is accompanied by three perforated Mother’s Day Tribute reply forms which allow recipients to send individual donations to honor someone special. An insert in the package informs recipients that with a donation, a Mother’s Day Tribute Card featuring St. Jude patient Micah and her mom will be sent to the person specified on their behalf. Wine Country Gift Baskets Indulges Mom
Mom-centric items were spotlighted in the recent Wine Country Gift Baskets catalog. While the company mails heavily to businesses, its offerings are touted as “Distinctive Personal & Corporate Gifts” on the front cover of the 22-page book. The cover also suggests the pictured Ultimate Indulgence ($99.95) basket filled with spa-worthy bath products as ideal for mom. Just inside, two new holiday-specific baskets -- the Windwhistle Grove Mother’s Day Duet ($49.95) and the Mother’s Day Tower ($19.95) -- are presented along with other themed baskets and items of a more general nature. Additional merchandise includes the Sterling Vintner’s Collection ($74.95) and the Bundle of Joy basket ($49.95) available in pink or blue.
