Wine Enthusiast, a multichannel marketer of wine accessories and storage, recently mailed its Summer 2008 catalog celebrating Independence Day. The 56-page book features the limited edition Fireworks “U” Tumblers ($19.95 for a set of two) perched on a balcony overlooking a fireworks display. SPCA International Sends Tee Shirt Freemium
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals International (SPCA), a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and caring for abused animals, recently mailed a jumbo package with a tee shirt freemium. Cover creative combines white italics with bold black copy that reads “All we need is Love” against a red background. On the reverse, a photo of a Labrador Retriever beside a Tabby cat takes up nearly the entire width of the envelope. The letter inside is addressed “Dear Fellow Animal Lover” and states that the organization needs help to protect animals. Through donations, SPCA provides financial support to animal shelters nationwide to aid all types of animals. Enclosed in the mailing is a white tee shirt with the same image of the two animals from the envelope. The caption “All We Need Is Love” is shown above the photo, with the SPCA web address beneath. A reply form attached to the bottom of the letter presents the $10/$15/$25/other ask ladder.
The Black Dog Welcomes Summer
The Black Dog’s Summer Preview 2008 catalog includes clothing, housewares and accessories inspired by Martha’s Vineyard. The company’s retail arm originated from the popularity of a tee shirt designed for cooks at The Black Dog Tavern featuring a profile of the owner’s beloved black dog for which the company is named. The 6” x 9-1/2” catalog features a man aboard a boat in a bright yellow Adult Raincoat ($49).
