Fred Waugh has assumed the newly created position of vice president of alliances at CRM firm Convio. Waugh previously served as vice president of marketing.
Waugh is responsible for developing, expanding and strengthening Convio’s strategic plans, programs and communication processes with service and technology providers, as well as third party developers who are building applications around Convio’s open platforms.
Waugh joined Convio in 2000. Prior to Convio he was with Tivoli Systems (an IBM company), where he was responsible for strategy and marketing around Tivoli's line of Internet and messaging management products. He has also held product management and marketing positions at Compaq Computer, Sun Microsystems and Farallon Communications.
Convio had previously announced that Sara Spivey has joined the company as CMO, filling the position vacated with Waugh’s move to lead the alliance programs.
