Bounty Celebrates Father, Daughter Bond with Contest

Procter & Gamble’s Bounty paper towels brand is out with a national contest in search of dads and daughters who best show that special father/daughter bond.

Moms can nominate their husbands and daughters in the “Bounty’s Promise” contest by submitting a photo of pair and a caption of 50 words or less explaining why they deserve to win to http://wwwbountyspromise.com.

Ten grand prize winners will win a trip to the “Daddy's Promise” Celebrity African-American Father-Daughter Dance in New York City during Father's Day weekend, June 19 to 21, 2009, which Bounty is sponsoring. The prize package includes airfare and accommodations, A $500 shopping spree at Macy's in Times Square, $400 in spending money, a salon package for father and daughter, a brunch and cooking demonstration and quality time at the American Girl Store for a daddy/daughter afternoon tea party.

The contest is part of Bounty's title sponsorship of TV journalist Ed Gordon's Daddy's Promise initiative, a campaign meant to engage the African-American community about the positive relationship that can exists between fathers and daughters and the role it plays as

“Bounty understands the importance of supporting initiatives aimed at celebrating and strengthening families within the African American community,” Darice Thompson, Bounty assistant brand manager, said in a statement.

Borrell, Chicago, P&G’s African-American creative agency, is the lead firm handling the campaign. Online marketing radio spots and PR will support the promotion.
