GNC Signs On for Apprentice Debut

Vitamin retailer GNC is the latest sponsor to support an upcoming appearance on The Apprentice: Los Angeles with a sweepstakes and a product giveaway.

Customers can enter The GNC Apprentice sweepstakes online at GNC.com for a chance to win $10,000 through March 31. Sweepstakes entries are also available at GNC stores.

In the episode, scheduled to air March 11, GNC will assign show candidates a marketing task and judge their work. The Apprentice: Los Angeles airs at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.

To drive trial of its vitamin products, customers can log on to GNC.com during the broadcast to download a certificate for a free 28-count bottle of men's or women's multivitamins, redeemable in any of the company's 4,800 stores. GNC said it expects to hand out $1 million worth of multivitamins as part of the campaign.

Online materials, in-store signage and TV spots will support the promotion.
