Jos. A. Bank Clothiers Inc. posted net income of $12.5 million for the second quarter, a 41% surge over net income of $8.9 million in the prior year.
The direct marketer and retailer reported sales of $167.7 million for the quarter ended Aug. 2, a 9.8% increase over $152.7 million last year.
The Hampstead, MD firm posted a direct marketing sales decrease of 6.7% in the quarter.
The company reported gross profit of $103.2 million for the quarter, an increase over $95.2 million last year.
"We are pleased to report another quarter of earnings growth for the company,” said CEO R. Neal Black, in a statement. “With this quarter’s results, we have achieved earnings growth in 31 of the past 32 quarters when compared to the respective prior year periods, including 13 quarters in a row.”
