Casual Male Retail Group Inc. has acquired seven of the 15 Dahle’s Big and Tall men’s clothing stores run by the Dahle family. The acquisition also includes Dahle’s customer list from its Internet and catalog business. Financial terms of the purchase were not disclosed.
The catalog and Internet business generated $500,000 in revenue during 2007. After the sale, Dahle’s will no longer run direct businesses.
The seven stores brought in approximately $5 million in revenue. They will be converted to the Casual Male XL brand before the 2008 holiday shopping season. Five of the stores are located in the Salt Lake City, UT; Billings, MT; or Boise, ID areas, all new markets for Casual Male. The other two stores extend Casual Male XL’s presence in the Phoenix and Las Vegas markets.
The remaining eight stores currently under Dahle Management will be liquidated by January 2009. All are in markets that compete with Casual Male.
