Cabela’s Inc. reported net income of $49.4 million for the fourth quarter, a decrease from $56.2 million last year.
The cataloger and retailer posted revenue of $879.4 million for the quarter ended Dec.27, a decrease from $889.5 million in the prior year.
The Sidney, NE firm’s direct unit posted operating income of $67.9 million for the quarter, a decrease from $82.7 million in the prior year.
The direct operation reported revenue of $410.4 million for the quarter, a decrease from $446.9 million the last year.
“Despite the current macroeconomic environment, recent encouraging trends in our business lead us to expect 2009 consolidated revenue to decline only slightly as compared with 2008 and earnings per share to be roughly equal with 2008 levels,” said Dennis Highby, CEO, in a statement.
