Web.com has acquired the assets and liabilities of Solid Cactus, an e-commerce site builder. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Solid Cactus will continue to operate as a separate brand of Web.com and will retain its offices in Shavertown and Wilkes-Barre, PA.
The acquisition enhances Web.com’s ability to help small- and medium-size businesses with their one-stop online marketing needs, according to a Web.com statement.
Solid Cactus provides Web site and e-commerce store design and programming, pay-per-click advertising management, search engine optimization, affiliate program and e-mail marketing management and call center and virtual office services, among other offerings.
In conjunction with the acquisition, Web.com will offer stock-based inducement awards to 125 new employees from Solid Cactus. The options vest over a period of four years.
