A White Carrier Is Hard to Beat

The white carrier envelope beat the black version by 16% in a test of 50,000 pieces on each side. Subsequently, in an effort to cut the cost of the expensive embossed foil, it was tested against gold-colored ink and an ink containing metallic “gold,” both printed flat and without engraving. The control won by wide margins, even after calculating its premium cost. Two additional major tests of flat-printed color vs. white carriers for other accounts, plus various mailers’ experiences, have convinced me that a white carrier is hard to beat. - Malcolm Decker
