Fassnacht Promoted to Chief Strategy Officer At Draftfcb

Draftfcb’s Michael Fassnacht has been promoted to the newly created role of worldwide chief strategy officer.

Fassnacht had formerly served as the agency's chief customer intelligence officer. In his new position, Fassnacht will help set overall corporate strategy. Draftfcb’s global leaders in media, planning, customer intelligence, digital strategy, retail, promotion, customer relationship management, and worldwide marketing resource services will now report to him.

Fassnacht has more than 20 years of data expertise. He has been with Draftfcb since it was formed in 2006. Before that, he served as director of customer intelligence at Draft Chicago, which he joined in 2005 from Loyalty Matrix, an analytics firm he founded in 2002.

"Since our merger, Michael has done an outstanding job helping to marry the science of data analytics with the art of creativity," said Laurence Boschetto, CEO and president of Draftfcb, in a stataement. "As one of our most published and well-regarded thought leaders, he has the strategic sensibility, the experience and the focus to take a long-term view and help define the kind of agency we're going to be in five years, then help get us there."

Fassnacht will maintain his close connection to several clients, while helping to coordinate major new business opportunities that span offices and regions.
