The Houston-based service allows podcasters to assign a phone number to the RSS XML code of a specific podcast. The phone number will then show up along with that podcast link in many search engines. A user can then dial up the number from either a landline or mobile phone and listen to the podcast.

A little bounce.The editors of the blog Boing Boing and Federated Media Publishing Inc. have launched Boing Boing TV (http://tv.boingboing.net). The site will feature daily three-to-five minute daily video reports on topics like "Internet culture, DIY technology and geeky curiosities," according to a release. Boing Boing began in 1989 as a paper 'zine and later expanded into a blog and podcast. BoingBoing.net now has more than 7.5 million page views a month, and over three million RSS subscribers," says co-founder Mark Frauenfelder.

Fan dance.Friendster Inc. (http://www.friendster.com/) has launched Fan Profiles, a new feature enabling musicians, artists, models, non-profits, athletes and the like to connect with existing fans and build a fan base within the site's global community. Fan Profiles features include mass e-mail capabilities, contact list management, fan base aggregation and more. Friendster has over 50 million registered members.
