E-News to Go
Look at this. So you say you want to try social networking, but can't find a place where people are enough like you? Try iLookLikeYou.com, where users upload a photo of themselves to be matched against other photos in the community. A column of top 10 look-alikes is displayed along with a match percentage. Members can then choose which look-alikes they like best, and display them on their profile page. Alternate photos can also be uploaded into a personal photo gallery to help members decide how much of a look-alike you really are. After members have found look-alikes, they can blog about the experience, participate in forums, contact friends or interact with other members.
They do, in the U.K. and Canada too. Team Wedding has revamped its Canadian and United Kingdom/Ireland in time for an official launch this month. The company also operates a U.S. bridal site at http://ww.topweddingsites.com. The sites offer directories of wedding resources, as well as an etiquette advice forum and a guide to planning second weddings and vow renewals.
A new tune. RealNetworks' digital music service Rhapsody has launched "Music Without Limits," a new initiative where consumers will be allowed to purchase MP3s free of the digital rights management (DRM) software that restricts how and where people can play their music. Any song or album purchased at www.rhapsody.com/mp3 can be played on any MP3 player, including the Apple iPod. Full-length songs will be available for preview. The Rhapsody MP3 catalog will include more than 5 million songs from all four major music labels -- Universal Music Group, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group, and EMI – as well as several independent labels.
